There was no national padel federation in The Commonwealth of The Bahamas, and the country appeared among no class of member of the International Padel Federation. The Bahamas Padel Federation was established to fill that place, and under the By-Law of the FIP it is the only one the country may have.
The initiative originates with Champion Spirit International Ltd., which operates the Champion Spirit Country Club at #9 South Ocean Road, Nassau. The club operates the country's padel facilities and employs its coaching staff. The first draft of the Federation's by-laws was prepared and reviewed by Bahamian counsel in 2024.
Champion Spirit met the Director of Sports of The Bahamas in January 2026 and sought the Ministry's guidance on the establishment of a national federation. The International Padel Federation visited the club in April 2026, and discussions have continued since on a FIP Promises junior tournament within the Americas circuit and on a wider partnership for the development of padel in The Bahamas and the Caribbean.
A complete dossier, comprising a letter of commitment, a compliance mapping against the requirements of the FIP, a legitimacy description and the full Constitution, was submitted to the International Padel Federation on 24 September 2026, ahead of its General Assembly held in Madrid on 12 October 2026.

No other organisation claims to govern padel at national level in The Bahamas, and no application for affiliation has been made on behalf of the country. The Federation is the first, and under Article 1.5 of the By-Law of the FIP, the only one.
Membership is open to every club, academy and organisation in The Bahamas operating padel facilities or programmes, on application to the Executive Board. The Federation is not a closed body, and the admission of further Bahamian clubs is a stated objective.
Members of the Executive Board are elected by free and secret ballot of the Full Members in General Assembly and may be removed by it at any time. No funder or facility holds any right of control over the regulatory functions of the Federation.
The Constitution was drafted against the Non-Profit Organisations Act, 2019 of The Commonwealth of The Bahamas and against the By-Law of the International Padel Federation approved at its 35th General Meeting in Acapulco on 28 November 2025.
| Commitment | Substance |
|---|---|
| Recognition of the FIP | The Federation acknowledges the International Padel Federation as the sole governing body of padel throughout the world, and undertakes to abide by its By-Law, rules, standards, Code of Ethics and Disciplinary Code. |
| Non profit character | No part of the income or property of the Federation may be paid or transferred to any member or officer. On dissolution any surplus passes to another non profit organisation and is never distributed. |
| Independence | The regulatory, disciplinary, selection and anti-doping functions are exercised by the Executive Board alone. Funding, facilities, staff or services confer no right of control. |
| Player licences | Annual licences renewed on medical examination. Licensed players make themselves available on a priority basis for the official competitions of the FIP. |
| Integrity | The World Anti-Doping Code and its International Standards are adopted in full, with zero tolerance on doping, competition manipulation, corruption, discrimination, violence, harassment and abuse in sport. |
| Women in padel | The Federation promotes the practice of padel by women at all levels and their equal representation in the management of the sport. |
| Conflicts of interest | Any contract between the Federation and a member, including the appointment of an official organiser, is subject to a disclosure and abstention procedure. |
| Arbitration | Disputes with the FIP or with any other member of the FIP are referred exclusively to the Court of Arbitration for Sport in Lausanne. |
